Strang Carriage House The 1915 Strang Carriage House, near downtown Overland Park, Kansas is the home of the Overland Park Historical Society. It is located in the Santa Fe Commons park in the area that was the first airfield west of the Mississippi. The attractive, but small building houses a collection of historic photographs and documents, as well as a few small displays of local artifacts. In the early 1900s, Overland Park had an airfield, aviation school, a grand stand, large hanger and other facilities where at least one airplane was built and weekend crowds would come to watch barn storming performances. The Strang Carriage House is more a place for researching Overland Park history, than a museum.
